Recent notable victories:

April 2011--Successfully defended against a preliminary injunction motion brought by Target Corporation against Canvass for a Cause

March 2011--Successfully defended against a preliminary injunction motion brought by Brea Mall against Orange County People for Animals

October 2008--Obtained a temporary restraining order in federal court preventing a state court from ordering the city of San Diego to disperse resting harbor seals from a beach. The TRO stood for eight months, allowing time for the California state legislature and governor to enact a bill allowing the seals to remain under state law.

March 2008--Won an emergency motion from the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals to allow the city of San Diego to install a rope barrier to protect pregnant and nursing harbor seals after a state court blocked the measure.

January 2008--Obtained a dismissal in Fashion Valley Mall v. Animal Protection and Rescue League, upholding the group's right to hold anti-fur protests on mall property that is open to the public pursuant to the California Constitution, and ultimately requiring the mall to pay for the billable hours I spent on the case.

May 2007--Settled a case against the City of San Diego to allow amplified sound as a form of free speech and to require the police department to exercise its discretion to enforce an ordinance prohibiting harassment of marine mammals.

February 2006--Obtained an order granting a request for a preliminary injunction requiring Sinclair Oil Corporation (dba Westgate Hotel Company) to allow free speech activity on their property that is outside and open to the public in San Diego.

February 2006--Won a lawsuit to strike down an anti-solicitation ordinance in San Diego on free speech grounds.
